FALL 2021 NEWS COMING SOON......

Winter 2021 News

We are excited about a new year here at the MRE library. Students started off the new year with a research unit! All grade levels are researching a different topic, using various research tools. It is so fun to see them at work!

Third through fifth grade students had the opportunity to vote for our Texas Bluebonnet Books. They received a list of 20 books in September, and they got to vote for their #1 pick in January. We can't wait to hear which one won the award.

Holocaust Remembrance week is also something we learned about in January. It is a great reminder for us to be kind and loving to everyone we encounter.

Fall 2020 News

Over the past 6 months, our Mustangs were missed tremendously! And, although we don't have our entire family back here in person, I can honestly say I am so thankful to have kids inside of these walls again. It is not a school without all of YOU!

We started back in person only a few weeks ago, but we have definitely hit the ground running. Students have learned a new way of "socially distance" book check out. We celebrated Hispanic Heritage month during September and also Dot Day!! We have an awesome new addition to our library; the Book Vending Machine! And students have already began earning books and taking them home. They are theirs to keep! I am so excited about this opportunity for our school. Teachers are on the look out for students who are making good choices, or showing improvement in their academics, to give book tickets to...they then come down to the library and choose a book from the machine to take home and KEEP! How fun is that?

We are ready for October and all of the fun festivities to come! 2020 can't get us down! ;)

Fall 2019 News

Our MRE library is rockin' and rollin' this fall! Students have learned how to self-check in and out books. They have also learned how to put a hold their favorites, renew, and even search for e-books on our online database! It's amazing how quickly they pick up on all things technology! ;)

3rd-5th grade have begun working their way through our Texas Bluebonnet list. They are asked to read 5 of these books if they want to participate in voting. That will take place in January. 1st and 2nd grade are reading the Texas 2x2 list! These are 20 picture books made just for them. When they complete the list, they may come to the library for a prize!

STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. Our Mustangs have learned all about these and the process of designing, creating and making. We always try to tie in a STEM activity with a book we've read in the library.

Fall is awesome, y'all!
